On November 21, 2015, DLAI was invited to attend the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the West Dongting Management District in Changde,Hunan Province and the Seminar on Planning and Financing of the Buddhist Culture Park.

      DLAI put forward some views for the future of the cultural park from the cultural and planning :

      West Dongting historical and cultural resources cum thick and rich.Four or five thousand years ago the Yao and Shun period, the hermit did not grant the word, to Hermitage (now Hunan Changde De Mountain), virtue broadcast the world and became the origin of Chinese moral culture.

      1、 [Highlands of Moral Cultural ]

      The words were put down in writing on the book "Shang juan ci ji":"The mountain of virtue is vast and hazy,the river of virtue is mighty,the man who called mister,is good at virtue and  observing and studying".

"Changde De mountain has virtue ", Changde has five thousand years of Chinese moral culture of thick heritage, De mountain was known as the highland of the moral culture.

      2、[Important region of Chu culture]

      Two thousand five hundred years ago in the Chu period, Qu Yuan described Changde like this in his works" The Songs of Chu": There are Angelicae Dahuricae around Yuan River and orchids around Li River(there are good things around ).The beautiful scenery of two rivers in Changde intersected in Dongting stood vividly on paper.

      3、[Harmonious land of the Peach Blossom Garden]

      More than a thousand years ago's litterateur in the Eastern Jin Dynasty,the famous hermit Mr. Tao Yuanming descripted an ideal country which was in harmony with the rest of the world,people lived there were in peace and happiness.Changde has always been the countryside scenery of crisscross of paths in fields and sounds of crowing cocks and barking dogs were heard around,so that many generations of hermit to fascinated.  

      From ancient times to the present, from the forest civilization to the marine civilization, in the country's grand policy One Belt, One Road, the Chinese culture is unprecedented open tolerance and self-confidence to the world.

      4、[Goodwill culture is an excellent representative of Chinese civilization]

      In his speech at the UNESCO headquarters last year, the chairman Xi said: "The revival of Chinese culture and Buddhism should take on heavy responsibility."

      Buddhism as early as the Tang and Song dynasties had been completely sinicized, came from India, prospered in Tang Dynasty,inherits so far and has become the essence of Chinese traditional culture Confucianism and Buddhism.

      The thought of compassion to the good and the causal loops placated the society and made people good for thousands of years.

      Buddhism prospered in heyday, Master Shandao was the second patriarch of Pure Land Sect in Tang Dynasty,actually formatted and perfected the theory and practice system of the teachings of the Pure Land,which was based on the teachings of the Pure Land put by the first patriarch ,Master Huiyuan.To advocate seeking relief by reading"Na mo emituofo".Close to ordinary people, became one of the two most influential Chinese Buddhist methods. 

      Participants were infected by the history and culture of the West Dongting and the excellent culture of goodwill culture. They all expressed their opinions and almost all in favor of the planning direction.
